In 2014, 9.6 million people fell ill with tuberculosis, and 1.5 million died. The vast majority of deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries.1
Tuberculosis is curable and treatable. Between 2000 and 2014, timely diagnosis and proper treatment have improved care dramatically, saving an estimated 43 million lives.
