The Roche Molecular Diagnostics' product portfolio in the area of microbiology is based on the company's Nobel Prize-winning PCR
technology. The company offers in vitro diagnostic tests for efficiently and quickly detecting M. tuberculosis (MTB) and
detection kits for M. avium and M. intracellulare (MAI).
Roche continues to expand their products into the Healthcare Associated Infection (HAI) market with the introduction of the
LightCycler® MRSA Advanced Test*, allowing for the simple and direct detection of MRSA in nasal swab specimens from patients
at risk of MRSA colonization. This new test joins the company’s LightCycler® SeptiFast Test MGRADE*, detecting the most
frequent sepsis-causing organisms directly from K-EDTA-blood specimens.
