AMPLICOR Chlamydia trachomatis/Neisseria gonorrhoeae (CT/NG) Test (CE-IVD & FDA-IVD)
The AMPLICOR CT/NG Test
The AMPLICOR CT/NG Test is a qualitative in vitro test for the detection of Chlamydia trachomatis and/or Neisseria gonorrhoeae in urine from males and females**, in endocervical swab specimens, and in male urethral swab specimens***. The test utilizes the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) nucleic acid amplification technique and nucleic acid hybridization for the detection of Chlamydia trachomatis and/or Neisseria gonorrhoeae.
The AMPLICOR CT/NG Test is based on the same four major processes described above for the COBAS® AMPLICOR CT/NG Test.
** The COBAS® AMPLICOR (CT/NG) Test is not available in the US for testing female urine specimens for N. gonorrhoeae.
*** The COBAS® AMPLICOR (CT/NG) Test is not available in the US for testing urethral swab specimens from asymptomatic males for N. gonorrhoeae.
