Rapid detection and differentiation of HSV 1 and HSV 2 DNA utilizing real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technology
The LightCycler® HSV ½ Qual Kit is an in vitro diagnostic assay that utilizes real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) amplification of nucleic acids for detection of Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV-1 and HSV-2) DNA, separately, in human clinical samples. The kit is used with the LightCycler® 2.0 Instrument with Software version 4.05 or higher.

  • All steps on the LightCycler® Instrument are driven by kit specific macros. The whole PCR analysis workflow as well as the reporting is pre-defined in the macros

Intended Use
 
The LightCycler® HSV 1/2 Qual Kit is intended for detection of HSV DNA and differentiation between HSV-1 and HSV-2 in human cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) samples or vesicle material (swabs in saline transport medium) when using the High Pure Viral Nucleic Acid Kit, the LightCycler® 2.0 instrument and this kit according to the workflow. It is an in vitro diagnostic assay that utilizes real-time PCR amplification of nucleic acids for detection of HSV DNA.
 
Not for blood screening. The LightCycler® HSV 1/2 Qual Kit is not intended for use in screening of blood or blood products for the presence of Herpes Simplex Virus.
