LightCycler® EBV Quantitative Kit
Registration Status
CE-IVD
 |
| | Rapid quantitative detection ofEpstein-Barr Virus (EBV) DNA utilizing real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technology | The LightCycler® EBV Quant Kit is an in vitro diagnostic assay that utilizes real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) amplification of nucleic acids for quantitation of Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) DNA in human clinical samples. The kit is used with the LightCycler® 2.0 Instrument with Software version 4.05 or higher. |
Features and Benefits
Flexibility
- All test kits run on the LightCycler 2.0 Instrument.
All steps on the LightCycler® 2.0 Instrument are driven by kit specific macros. The whole PCR analysis workflow as well as the reporting is pre-defined in the macros
- The complete testing workflow including manual sample preparation (HighPure Viral Nucleic Acid Kit) is validated and CE-marked
- All kits work with UDG selective amplification for carry-over prevention.
Speed
- Less than 3 hours for one LightCycler® 2.0 run including sample preparation.
Convenience
- This kit contains reagents for the analysis of a maximum of 72 clinical samples. All reagents for amplification and detection, including controls, are provided
Safety
- Internal Control to avoid misinterpretation and false negative results.

Intended Use
The LightCycler® EBV Quant Kit is intended for monitoring of EBV DNA in human whole blood (EDTA) and human plasma samples (EDTA or ACD) when using the High Pure Viral Nucleic Acid Kit, the LightCycler® 2.0 instrument and this kit according to the workflow. It is an in vitro diagnostic assay that utilizes real-time PCR amplification of nucleic acids for quantitation of Epstein-Barr Virus DNA.
Do not change assay. It is strongly recommended that a patient monitored by the LightCycler® EBV Quant Kit stays with this assay during the complete period of monitoring.
Do not change sample matrix. It is strongly recommended to use the same sample matrix each time the patient is tested for EBV.
Not for blood screening. The LightCycler® EBV Quant Kit is not intended for use in screening of blood or blood products for the presence of Epstein-Barr Virus.
For professional use. The LightCycler® EBV Quant Kit is for professional use by properly trained personnel only. | | |
